Fund Administrator - Alternative Investments

Kforce has a client in Jersey City, NJ that is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fund Administrator with experience supporting alternative investment funds, including private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, and real assets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day fund accounting, investor reporting, and operational support to ensure accurate and timely administration of complex fund structures. Key Responsibilities: Fund Accounting & Financial Reporting:

• Maintain the general ledger and prepare periodic financial statements for alternative investment funds in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, or other applicable frameworks
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals for fund portfolios
• Oversee capital activity, including calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest, and waterfalls
• Coordinate and review valuations for portfolio companies, private assets, and illiquid securities

• Manage investor onboarding, subscriptions, redemptions, and transfers in compliance with AML/KYC requirements
• Prepare and distribute investor capital account statements, notices, and performance reports
• Support the preparation of annual audit and tax documents (e.g., K-1s, 1099s)

• Liaise with fund managers, auditors, legal counsel, and custodians to ensure smooth fund operations
• Assist in implementing best practices for fund accounting processes and internal controls
• Participate in system enhancements or automation initiatives related to fund administration

• Ensure compliance with fund governing documents, regulatory requirements (e.g., SEC, AIFMD), and internal policies
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and accounting standards relevant to alternative investments
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• 3-7 years of experience in fund administration, accounting, or operations with exposure to alternative investments
• Strong understanding of private equity, hedge fund, or real estate fund structures
• Familiarity with GAAP and IFRS fund reporting standards
• Proficiency with fund accounting systems (e.g., Investran, eFront, Geneva, Yardi, or Allvue) and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines
