Role Overview

As General Manager, US, you will lead VCLS’s Life Sciences consulting business across North America, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and high-level client engagement. In this role, you will own the business and financial performance of the US entity, VCLS Inc., and be expected to generate business that contributes to the success of the entire company. You will partner closely with global senior leadership and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve ambitious goals.

This opportunity is ideal for an executive with exceptional sales and networking capabilities, with experience opening doors at the C-suite level in Biotech, Pharma, MedTech, and the investment community, and building relationships that translate into meaningful business. You are an inspiring leader who can grow, develop, and engage the US team in close partnership with functional leaders, fostering a strong culture, high utilization, and consistent professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Market Leadership & Strategic Growth

  • Define the strategic vision and market positioning for VCLS services in the US and lead the execution of a market strategy aligned with our global objectives.
  • Drive high-level business development build and sustain relationships with senior leaders, innovators, and investors.
  • Position VCLS as the preferred partner across regulatory, clinical, and development services.
  • Proactively generate global business opportunities originating from the US market.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Hold full accountability for the financial performance of the US business, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Oversee project delivery and service quality, maintaining compliance and exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with global functional leaders to optimize resource allocation, maximize utilization, and avoid duplication of expertise.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead US-based consulting and business development teams, fostering a culture that reflects our PIPE values: People, Innovation, Passion, Excellence.
  • In partnership with global and functional leadership, hire, set objectives, coach, develop, and monitor the performance of employees.
  • Partner with HR and functional managers to drive engagement, career growth, and retention.
  • Ensure employees are effectively integrated into global teams.
  • Champion a collaborative, high-performance environment.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Senior leader with a proven track record in Life Sciences consulting, regulatory strategy, clinical development, or adjacent fields.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and strategic client acquisition at the C-suite level.
  • Well-established network within US Biotech, MedTech, Pharma, and investment communities.
  • Strategic thinker capable of shaping market positioning and growth strategy.
  • Inspirational people leader who has built, coached, and retained high-performing teams in global, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong financial acumen with prior P&L accountability.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the presence and credibility to represent VCLS externally.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, or a related discipline; MBA or business qualifications are a plus.
