Electrical Estimator
A growing electrical contractor is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support commercial and industrial construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-career estimating or electrical construction experience who wants to grow within a stable and reputable contracting environment. You’ll work closely with senior estimators and project teams while gaining exposure to a wide variety of projects and preconstruction responsibilities. Project experience may include commercial office building, warehouses and distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, healthcare and institutional projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist with competitive bid proposals and cost estimates
- Perform quantity takeoffs from electrical drawings and specifications
- Review blueprints, one-line diagrams, and construction documents
- Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Support labor, material, and equipment estimating efforts
- Utilize estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, or McCormick
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and occasional site visits
- Assist with scope reviews, bid leveling, and value engineering
- Maintain estimating databases and historical pricing information
Qualifications
- 1–5+ years of experience in electrical estimating or electrical construction
- Experience working for an electrical contractor preferred
- Understanding of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
- Familiarity with Accubid, OST / On-Screen Takeoff desired
- Knowledge of NEC codes and construction practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
