Estimator – Excavation and Underground Utilities. Full-time role focused on pricing civil infrastructure work including water main replacement, sewer installation, storm drainage, and related site utilities. Responsibilities include assembling full cost estimates, building quantity takeoffs, analyzing plans and specs, reviewing vendor and subcontractor numbers, and producing complete bid packages for public and private opportunities. Close coordination with project managers and field teams ensures bids reflect true production means, methods, and risk.
This position sits within a heavy civil contractor known for excavation and utility construction. The estimator leads preconstruction planning, cost modeling, and value alternatives for major sitework packages, shaping the pursuit strategy for complex regional infrastructure projects.
Key Qualifications
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card) is Required.
• Background in estimating excavation and utility scopes (water, sewer, storm)
• Competence in detailed takeoffs, cost modeling, and bid assembly
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or comparable estimating platforms
• Strong analytical and organizational discipline
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
