The scope of the Strategic Sourcing Manager Direct Precision Materials (DPM) MedTech position will include:
- Leading the E2E business category strategy development and execution, supplier management and risk mitigation for DPM parts across MedTech, with specific focus on Surgery BU (Business Unit) and a smaller scope across other Medtech BUs.
- Reporting into the MedTech Procurement DPM Team, the role will be integral part of development and execution of the Surgery base business strategy and will provide overall coordination, facilitation and enablement of programs that will drive standard methodologies and that will demonstrate across the J&J Enterprise.
- Be responsible for handling all aspects of the relationship with designated Surgery direct material suppliers to deliver reliable product supply and total cost reduction while meeting or exceeding all customer service, compliance, and product requirements.
- Work closely with the DPM Category Leaders in deployment sub-category strategies within the Surgery business and other MedTech BUs.
- Work with internal and external collaborators to develop and deploy local strategies that align with Category objectives and that impact cost, quality, service, SEI, SRM and supplier consolidation activities and metrics.
- Providing input to the standard costs each year as part of the business planning process, for the items under their control and deliver year-over-year productivity against those standards.
- Negotiating favorable prices, developing and administering contracts for select strategic suppliers.
- Monitoring and benchmark existing supply base within the global marketplace.
Be responsible for providing a practical and intellectual understanding of the global VC and Surgery industry and its channels in order to provide a strong combination of strategic vision and hands-on leadership in all aspects of global sourcing operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding & experience of business operations and procurement practices (Spend Management, Category Management & Sourcing and Supplier Management)
- Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
- Analytical, sound judgment and decision making, problem solver
- Demonstrated track record of delivering against targets and objectives
- Able to prioritize requests and propose effective alternatives when necessary.
- Ability to show judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues
- Strong level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community
- Ability to influence and understand differing needs of partners (e.g., Business, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain)
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of category sourcing strategy & execution
Preferred Minimum Education
- Preferred Area of Study: Business, Engineering, Science
- FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Retail, Commodities
- Working knowledge and experience in Sourcing Processes, Contracting, Negotiations
- Strong user level: Desktop software (e.g MS Office), eSourcing, optimization, intranet and ERP/equivalent platforms

- This anticipated travel for this position 10%
- The anticipated base pay for this position is $100,000 to $157,255
The Company maintains highly driven, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

- Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

- Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
