- Administer prescribed medications or start intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patients' charts.
- Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.
- Answer patients' calls and determine how to assist them.
- Provide basic patient care or treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Work as part of a healthcare team to assess resident needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.
- Supervise nurses' aides.
- Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other healthcare team members as necessary.
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures.
- Work under the supervision of the Director of Nursing or designee.
- Must have a valid and current LPN or RN license in accordance with the laws of NJ
- CPR Certified
- Must be able to read, write, speak & understand the English language
- Must have the computer skills to learn & use Point Click Care for charting medical records.
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the resident served.
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Must be able to relay information concerning a resident's condition
