Job Overview

The Accountant position focuses on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of TerraCycle’s financial records and supporting the month-end close process. This position is responsible for various monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting requirements across multiple business segments within the organization. Key duties include preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, managing intercompany and foreign currency transactions, assisting with annual financial audits, managing cash transactions, recording purchase to pay transactions, and maintaining customer/vendor data in SAP Business One. The role also involves ad hoc tasks and reporting as directed by management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including fixed assets, inventory, prepaids, accruals and bank reconciliations
• Record transactions in the purchase to pay process including purchase orders, receiving reports, and A/P invoices
• Review transactions and general ledger accounts for proper coding in accordance with US GAAP
• Prepare intercompany transactions between domestic and foreign business segments
• Create and maintain customer and vendor records within SAP Business One
• Record and reconcile daily cash transactions
• Prepare A/R aging reports and manage A/R collections
• Prepare journal entries for month-end close
• Assist with annual financial audits
• Create routine operational and ad hoc reports as required
• Perform additional requests, as assigned by management 

Requirements

Desired Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field
• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
• Strong Excel skills
• Working knowledge of general ledger software, SAP Business One a plus
• Microsoft Office proficient
• Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with offices in different geographic regions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
