Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for the front office who will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences. You will utilize Medent as an EMR for patient records, welcoming patients as they arrive, managing the appointment calendar, and handling incoming calls. You will verify patient insurance coverage and assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accurate and confidential maintenance of patient records.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Medent as the EMR system for patient records.
- Welcome patients upon arrival and ensure they feel comfortable and informed.
- Manage the appointment calendar and coordinate with medical staff.
- Handle incoming calls and address patient inquiries.
- Verify patient insurance coverage.
- Organize workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Maintain and update patient records accurately.
- Process insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient billing.
- Provide patients with information on treatments, medications, and post-procedure care.
- Order and manage medical supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations.
Essential Skills
- Experience with EMR systems, especially Medent.
- Medical assisting and medical reception skills.
- Medical receptionist or front office experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Orthopedic experience is strongly preferred.
Work Environment
Work shifts from Monday to Friday with one weekend per quarter, starting between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM for an 8-hour shift. Weekend shifts are from 8 AM to 12 PM. You will work one evening shift per week from 12 PM to 8 PM once trained. The primary location is Sparta, with occasional visits to other sites. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparta, New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
