Electro‑Mechanical Test Mechanic II – Aerospace Valves and Fluids
Help us certify flight‑critical hardware for commercial space systems. In this hands‑on role you will assemble, instrument, and verify complex valve products to demanding customer, regulatory, and mil‑spec requirements.
Your impact (key responsibilities)
- Validate performance: conduct end‑of‑line functional tests on valve components; capture and maintain accurate test data.
- Read and apply procedures, schematics, and drawings; confirm fixture/tooling geometries using microscopes and precision metrology.
- Set up and operate test equipment: multimeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, pressure gauges/transducers, load cells, data recorders, and flow meters.
- Assemble product internals using standard hand tools and arbor presses; apply lock wire and torque seal per spec.
- Install/operate high‑pressure test rigs for nitrogen, helium, and Skydrol/red‑oil; maintain these systems for reliability.
- Troubleshoot failures, execute rework, and propose corrective actions; assist with test equipment maintenance/repair.
- Maintain parts control and job counts; keep hand tools clean and serviceable.
- Identify routing discrepancies and coordinate updates with supervision.
- Work to approved technical data, customer specifications, and applicable military standards.
- Support continuous improvement with Lean ideas, and uphold ESD/FOD and PPE best practices.

- Communicate effectively across departments; participate in team meetings and improvement efforts.
- Assist in training other personnel as directed; embody company values and keep leadership informed.
- Maintain a clean, secure, well‑organized work area; complete special assignments as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- 3–5 years of manufacturing/testing experience.
- Hands‑on measurement and testing of mechanical/electro‑mechanical products.
- Proven mechanical/technical aptitude; strong functional test skills.
- Experience using electronic test equipment and data systems.
- Knowledge of high‑pressure fluids and gases (Skydrol/red‑oil, nitrogen, helium) and the ability to work with abrasive chemicals and hydraulic fluids.
- Understanding of Lean, ESD, FOD control, and appropriate PPE.
- Effective written/verbal communication at all levels.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Must be a US citizen.
Work environment
- Professional office and manufacturing/machine‑shop settings with exposure to fluids, fumes/airborne particles, moving machinery, noise, and vibration; temperature may vary.
- Standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, filing, fax) and required eye/hearing/foot protection in production areas.
- Full‑time with overtime and some weekends as needed; travel approximately 5–10%.
- Compressed schedule: four 10‑hour shifts, Monday–Thursday, 4:30 PM–3:00 AM.
Physical demands
- Regular talking/hearing; frequent hand/arm repetition and fine manipulation.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Standing for long periods, plus sitting, walking, stooping, bending, turning, balancing, and crouching.
- Lift/push/pull/move up to 45 lbs.
