Position: Accounting Administrator
Location: North Bergen, NJ
Duration: Full-time & direct hire
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Administrator to support daily accounting, payroll, HR, and office administration functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping, account reconciliations, payroll processing, and office operations. Experience with QuickBooks, ADP, Paylocity, and Workforce Now is highly preferred. The candidate should also possess strong communication and organizational skills and be able to manage multiple administrative and accounting tasks efficiently.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform daily accounting activities, including bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Process payroll using ADP, Paylocity, or Workforce Now systems.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Support HR-related functions, including employee onboarding, documentation, and payroll coordination.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable labor laws and employment regulations, particularly for NJ/NY.
- Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks.
- Coordinate office administrative duties, including filing, scheduling, correspondence, and office organization.
- Prepare financial and administrative reports as needed by management.
- Communicate with employees, vendors, and clients regarding accounting and administrative matters.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of financial and employee information.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or office administration required.
- Experience with QuickBooks required.
- Experience using ADP, Paylocity, or Workforce Now for payroll processing preferred.
- Knowledge of payroll procedures and reconciliation processes.
- Understanding of NJ/NY labor laws preferred.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
