Accounting Associate

Location: Springfield, NJ (On-site)

Organization: Union Fund Office – Serving Ironworkers in New Jersey & Philadelphia

About the Role
We are seeking an Accounting Associate to join our Fund Office team. Prior experience is helpful but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate. If you have a basic understanding of bookkeeping and are dependable, accurate, and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and discrepancieEnter vendor invoices into accounting software and assist with timely payment processing

• Maintain vendor files, reports, and simple Excel spreadsheets for month-end balancing

• Review daily deposit reports and process electronic deposits

• Enter Plan Participants’ direct deposit information into benefit software

• Assist Plan Participants by phone and email with general questions

• Provide administrative support to the accounting staff as needed

Requirements

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Computer proficiency and willingness to learn new software

• Basic math skills and familiarity with Excel

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities

• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team

• Commitment to accuracy and confidentiality

Preferred:

• Experience with QuickBooks or Sage 50

• Data entry or administrative experience

• Customer service background

Additional Information:

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:30 PM (35 hours/week), In Office

Potential: 1 remote day per week

• Must pass a drug test and background check
