Accounting Manager
Kforce's client, a fast-growing, privately held pharma company, is seeking a talented Accounting Manager in New Jersey, NJ. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, you will supervise and participate in the monthly financial close, financial reporting, monthly analysis and more. The firm offers competitive compensation and benefits, advancement potential and a fully remote work option. Duties:
- Participate in month-end close responsibilities, including preparation and review of journal entries and other general ledger duties
- Oversee account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Prepare and maintain internal control documentation for close and other accounting activities
- Perform technical accounting research and documentation, as needed
- Assist in assessing and documenting accounting policies and procedures
- Work closely with the external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits
- Coordinate with external tax experts and authorities to complete provisions, returns, and address similar tax matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute various special projects and preparation of ad hoc financial reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Active CPA license required
- 6+ years of relevant accounting experience (some public accounting/Big 4 preferred)
- Experience using financial ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred, along with advanced Excel skills
- Ability to maintain a reliable, timely accounting close process
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Ability to manage/mentor staff
- Quick learner and self-starter who is accustomed to working with deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong preference for new hire to reside in Central or Eastern time zones
