Job Title: Inside Sales Representative (ISR)

Reports To: Sales Manager
Location: Lakewood NJ

Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for handling customer inquiries, preparing rental quotes and contracts, and ensuring a smooth rental process from start to finish. This role plays a key part in driving revenue through exceptional customer service, sales support, and collaboration with outside sales and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction & Service

• Respond promptly to phone, email, and walk-in customer inquiries.
• Provide accurate information on equipment availability, pricing, and usage.
• Prepare and follow up on quotes and rental agreements.
• Foster strong, ongoing customer relationships to support retention and repeat business.

Sales & Business Development

• Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and services.
• Support Outside Sales Reps in managing and growing key accounts.
• Contact dormant or prospective accounts to generate new rental opportunities.
• Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and goals.

Order Processing & Coordination

• Accurately enter rental contracts, reservations, and return data into the system.
• Coordinate with logistics and service departments to ensure timely delivery and pickup.
• Monitor and follow up on open quotes and pending orders.

Administrative & Reporting

• Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and sales activities in CRM or rental software / spreadsheet.
• Assist with resolving contract discrepancies, billing issues, or customer concerns.
• Generate daily, weekly, or monthly activity and performance reports.

Product & Industry Knowledge

• Stay current on the company’s fleet, specifications, and capabilities.
• Understand equipment applications, proper use, and applicable safety standards.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
• 1–3 years of inside sales, customer service, or rental industry experience
• Experience handling inbound and outbound phone calls and emails in a professional setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and rental management software
• Excellent communication customer service and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

• Experience in the construction or industrial equipment rental industry a plus
• Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with heavy equipment a plus
