We are committed to excellence in surveying services and are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician to join our growing team.
Position Overview:
As a Survey CAD Technician working with our team in Mount Laurel, NJ, you will play a crucial role in transforming field survey data into precise and comprehensive digital drawings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer-aided design (CAD), proficiency in relevant software, and the ability to collaborate with surveying teams to produce accurate and high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Convert field survey data into CAD drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
- Prepare detailed survey plats, topographic maps, and construction staking drawings.
- Collaborate with Survey Party Chiefs and project managers to understand project requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of CAD drawings, incorporating survey data and project specifications.
- Organize and manage CAD files and project documentation in a systematic manner.
- Assist in the resolution of technical issues related to CAD drawings and survey data.
- Review and interpret survey field notes, sketches, and data to create accurate digital representations.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and advancements in surveying CAD technology.
- Provide support to survey teams in the interpretation and utilization of CAD drawings.
- Collaborate with other CAD technicians and team members to maintain consistency in drafting standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certificate in Computer-Aided Design or a related field desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey CAD Technician.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
- Strong understanding of surveying principles and terminology.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in CAD drafting.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with land surveying standards and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of GIS software is a plus.
