Construction Accounting Clerk
Velocity Constructors, Inc. is a Colorado-based, employee-owned general contractor specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure projects . From pump stations to treatment plants, we build systems that keep communities safe and running.
- Process daily Accounts Payable (AP) transactions
- Process Accounts Receivable (AR) activity, including entering pay applications into SAGE to support Project Managers
- Review pay applications to ensure completeness and accuracy before entry
- Post AP payments in SAGE
- Manage the Accounting inbox and route items appropriately
- Prepare and maintain accounting spreadsheets and trackers
- Perform paperless indexing and document management
- Prepare check run packets and supporting documentation
- Assist with transactional accounting support as needed
- Set up new vendors and maintain vendor records in SAGE
- Collect and manage W-9s and vendor documentation
- Process lien waivers and related compliance documentation
- Support tax management tasks, including:
- Sales and use tax tracking
- Home-rule municipality exemption letters and documentation
- Administer postage meter
- Organize and maintain accounting support documentation
- Serve as office notary as needed
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of accounting records
- Ensure documentation is audit-ready and properly organized
- Communicate effectively with accounting team members and project personnel
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support accounting operations
- Prior experience in accounting, accounts payable, or related financial role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage routine, deadline-driven work independently
- Comfortable working in accounting systems and spreadsheets
- Professional discretion when handling financial and confidential information
- Experience with construction accounting or ERP systems (SAGE preferred) is a plus

💲 Hourly $23-$27 per hour DOE
- Full-Time | 30 hours per week to start
