Position Title: Full-Time Preschool Teacher – Dual Language Program
Location: Provider School for North Plainfield School District
Job Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality dual language preschool program that supports the academic, social, emotional, and developmental growth of young children using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold. The teacher will create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment aligned with New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards and the expectations of the provider school partnership with the North Plainfield School District.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in a dual language preschool classroom.
- Foster language development in both English and the target language through daily instruction and classroom interactions.
- Create a nurturing, culturally responsive, and engaging learning environment.
- Implement curriculum aligned with district and state preschool standards.
- Observe, assess, and document student progress using approved assessment tools.
- Maintain accurate student records, lesson plans, and developmental portfolios.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, classroom activities, and developmental goals.
- Collaborate with administrators, instructional coaches, child study teams, and support staff.
- Support students’ social-emotional development and positive behavior using appropriate classroom management strategies.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and district-required trainings.
- Ensure classroom health, safety, and licensing compliance at all times.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
- New Jersey Preschool through Grade 3 (P-3) Certification required or eligible (CE).
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Experience working in preschool or early childhood settings preferred.
- Knowledge of dual language instructional practices and early childhood development preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to supervise and actively engage with preschool-aged children throughout the school day.
- Ability to participate in classroom activities, including sitting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
