Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG)
Clifton, NJ

Job Description

Job Description

WHO WE ARE:

VEG is revolutionizing the Veterinary Emergency experience. Our mission is to help people and their pets when they need it most. Emergency is our middle name. It's all we do, so we do it best.

The way that Veterinary Emergency was meant to be is now a reality. We are reimagining every part of the process with a unique customer experience, a highly trained emergency focused staff, and on-site advanced diagnostic tools and treatments. Our patients see a doctor right away and clients can stay with their pet through every step of the process. We literally tear down old walls to unite customers with their VEGgie heroes and to see the amazing work they do. We liberate our employees to be all they can be. We brush away systems that don't make sense. We crush old rules. We make new rules.

CULTURE AT VEG:

At VEG, we want people and their pets to feel safe, secure, and valued. We aim for our employees to feel the same way. We lead with our values of togetherness, openness, heroic helping, and meaningful moments. We are actively evolving to ensure that VEG is not only the best and brightest place to come work today, but also a leader in how we think about talent and development so that our employees grow along with us. For our customers and their pets, we find a way to say, "Yes". We do the same for our employees.

FOCUS:

This role focuses on ultrasound support for VEG hospitals and training facilities. You will work closely with emergency doctors to provide same-day ultrasound scans for pets when they need it most. You will also assist in coordinating education opportunities and overall ultrasound training for your home and regional hospitals. You will inspire and motivate your fellow VEGgies to grow their ultrasound skills.

WHO WE NEED:

They love working with animals and people. They are comfortable adapting to new scenarios, willing to learn new techniques, and think outside the box. Someone with excellent interpersonal skills that is happy to pitch in wherever and whenever they are needed, and does so with a positive attitude. They demonstrate the ability to accomplish assigned tasks and know when to ask for assistance. They display excellent communication skills to their peers, customers, and team.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

  • Regularly meet with the medical directors, VNDCs, and director of radiology education to discuss program development, training objectives, and additional needs
  • Regularly meet with hospital manager and medical director to discuss implementation of new training protocols, training schedules, hospital training needs, and interpersonal concerns
  • Coordinate weekly schedule with hospital manager and medical director to work on-the-floor shifts and dedicate time to training responsibilities
  • May assist in developing ultrasound curriculum material, as needed, such as PowerPoints, videos, simulations, and assessments to be implemented across the doctor and nursing team training programs
  • May have the opportunity to provide educational demonstrations for doctors and nurses at other VEGs including ultrasound topics such as abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, cervical, and musculoskeletal studies
