Job Overview:

The Cardiac Cath Aide/Assistant functions under the direction of the department Director and Manager. The Cardiac Cath Aide/Assistant supports the department leadership, Registered Nurse (RN), and technician population of the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

• Minimum of one (1) year hospital experience required.

• Knowledge of medical terminology required

Preferred:

• Knowledge of Patient Transport or Sterile Processing strongly preferred.

Essential Functions:

• Primary responsibilities involve supportive and technical assistance associated with the overall course of diagnostic and interventional procedures

• Preparing rooms and items for procedures

• Assisting with transportation of patients within the department

• Monitoring inventory

• Stocking procedural areas and rooms.

• Works closely with Central Sterile, Laboratory, Patient Transport, and Pharmacy departments to support hospital resources and patient care as appropriate.
