Chef

We are seeking an experienced, creative, and hands-on Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering exceptional food, maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency, and fostering a positive kitchen culture. The Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, including menu development, food quality, inventory management, labor control, and staff training, while ensuring an outstanding dining experience for every guest. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Develop seasonal menus, daily specials, and innovative features while maintaining the restaurant's culinary identity.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently to Stoney Brook Grille's quality and presentation standards.
• Hire, train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff.
• Foster a professional, respectful, and team-oriented kitchen environment.
• Monitor food costs, labor costs, and kitchen efficiency to meet financial goals.
• Manage purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Minimize food waste through proper inventory rotation and portion control.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with ownership and management on menu pricing, promotions, catering events, and private parties.
• Oversee banquet and catering food production for both on-site and off-site events.
• Respond quickly and professionally to guest feedback regarding food quality.
• Maintain equipment and coordinate necessary repairs when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of Executive Chef or Head Chef experience in a high-volume full-service restaurant.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Extensive knowledge of American cuisine with experience in Mediterranean and seafood dishes preferred.
• Excellent understanding of food cost control, inventory management, and labor budgeting.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
