Job Title: Controller Location: Rockaway, NJ Zip Code: 07866 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Direct Hire Pay Rate: $115,000 - $135,000 + bonus Schedule: 100% onsite #manufacturing #directhire #NJjobs #controller #plantcontroller Job Duties: The Controller is responsible for overall financial management of the business unit, including financial reporting, cost accounting, SOX compliance, internal controls, and protection of company assets. This role partners closely with plant and division leadership to achieve financial commitments, improve operational performance, and drive revenue and EBIT growth. The Controller serves as a key member of the senior leadership team and provides strategic financial insight to operations, division, and corporate stakeholders.

• Manage the performance of the finance group and participate on the senior leadership team
• Partner with business and plant leaders to achieve financial commitments and proactively identify risks and recovery plans
• Drive cost savings and process improvement initiatives across the business
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial statements, QOR and FQR schedules
• Own and maintain an effective cost accounting system and financial reporting structure
• Maintain balance sheet integrity including provisions, reconciliations, and asset protection
• Lead and strengthen internal controls and maintain SOX Section 404 compliance
• Coordinate internal and external audits
• Participate in ERP implementations or upgrades at the plant level
• Prepare and review capital expenditure requests in line with corporate return guidelines
• Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long- and short-range financial planning
• Manage monthly consolidation of financial results prior to corporate submission
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational reports for division and corporate leadership
• Administer systems and policies to measure financial and operational performance
• Support profit planning, sales forecasting, expense budgeting, capital investment, and labor tracking

Software/Tools Used:

• ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise ERP)
• Financial reporting & consolidation tools (corporate reporting packages tied to PCC)
• Cost accounting systems (standard costing, variance analysis, inventory/WIP)
• SOX compliance & audit tools (internal controls documentation, audit workflows)
• Advanced Excel (financial modeling, forecasting, analysis)
