Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school psychologist position is available in a K-12 educational setting located in Newark, NJ. This contract role extends throughout the entire school year and offers a dynamic environment to support student mental health and academic success.
Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, developing intervention plans, consulting with educators and families, and contributing to the creation of supportive learning environments. The role requires collaboration with teachers and administrators to address student needs and promote positive behavioral outcomes.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid school psychologist certification or licensure
- Experience working with K-12 students in school settings
- Strong assessment and intervention skills
- Knowledge of special education laws and protocols
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Key duties:
- Administer and interpret psychological evaluations
- Participate in student support team meetings
- Provide individual and group counseling services as needed
- Assist in crisis intervention and behavioral support planning
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
