Job Title: Packaging Mechanic I
Location: Monmouth Junction, NJ
Hours / Schedule: 2nd Shift | Mon–Thurs, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Type: Temp - Perm

Overview
The Packaging Mechanic I supports the Packaging Department by maintaining and repairing packaging equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, line changeovers / startups, equipment upgrades, and root cause analysis to ensure compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, and FDA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on packaging equipment (fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, shrink wrappers, etc.)

• Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvement activities

• Execute line changeovers and startups

• Support QA and Operations during packaging runs

• Ensure safe equipment operation at all times

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical / Biotech packaging mechanic experience
• Strong electrical background
• Hands-on experience with fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, shrink wrappers, etc.
• Must pass pre-employment and physical
• High school/GED

• Proficient in manufacturing procedures, FDA regulations, cGMPs, SOPs

• Ability to read/interpreting safety, maintenance, and procedure manuals

• Basic PC skills

• Willingness to work overtime as needed

Preferred Requirements

• Trade school or technical certification

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Stand for extended periods

• Use of PPE as required
