Buyer
Job Summary
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of materials, components, and supplies needed for production and operations. This role ensures timely procurement at the best value while maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
Place purchase orders for raw materials, components, and supplies according to production needs.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed while minimizing excess stock.
Track and expedite orders to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements, and pricing information.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and accounting teams to coordinate materials and budget.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.
Qualifications
Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management preferred.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing/ERP systems.
Detail-oriented and organized with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes or conveyors is a plus.
