Junior Estimator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join the team. The Junior Estimator will assist the Senior Estimator in preparing accurate, competitive bids for construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to start their career in the construction industry and gain valuable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Senior Estimator in reviewing project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements and scope of work

- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment

- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids

- Prepare bid packages and submit bids to clients

- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed

- Maintain accurate and organized records of bid documents and correspondence

- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure a smooth transition from bidding to the construction phase

- Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives

- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and pricing

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

- 1-2 years of experience in construction estimating preferred, but not required

- Strong mathematical and analytical skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam, Planswift)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
