Saint Francis Veterinary Center of South Jersey is looking for a Surgical Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You
As a Surgical Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to surgery assistance, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Veterinary technician licensure strongly preferred
1-2 years of clinical experience in a general practice setting
Must have surgical, anesthesia and dental experience.
- Must possess superior customer service skills
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitoring critical and post-operative patients
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate
- Consistent and reliable ability to place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and intubate dogs and cats
- Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, and other position-related calculations

At Saint Francis Veterinary Center of South Jersey, we provide primary and urgent care to dogs and cats in Gloucester County and the surrounding areas. We also offer dentistry. We are proud to be accredited by the AAHA and certified as a Cat-Friendly practice. We have been proudly serving as Delaware Valley’s veterinary hospital since 1986.
We are open Monday - Sunday from 8 am to 8 pm

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $22 - $28/ hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
