Application Development Manager

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of software developers, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and professional development.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture and provide technical mentorship.
• Oversee design, development, testing, and deployment of applications.
• Ensure adherence to best practices for coding, testing, and development methodologies (Agile, DevOps).
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Manage application development projects, ensuring they meet time, budget, and quality standards.
• Define scope, objectives, and deliverables; monitor progress and mitigate risks.
• Stay updated on technology trends and recommend tools, platforms, and frameworks.
• Contribute to IT strategies and roadmaps; evaluate and recommend tools and platforms.
• Ensure applications are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Optimize development workflows to reduce technical debt.
• Enforce coding standards, quality controls, and security best practices.
• Act as liaison between development teams and business stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements of applications.
• Ensure timely resolution of issues and support during critical incidents.

Skills:

• Leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in Java, Apex, and frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.
• Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Application security practices and tools.
• System architecture, APIs, and Salesforce integrations.
• Problem-solving, decision-making, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in software/application development, with 2–3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in managing software development projects in Artificial Intelligence areas.
• Experience with enterprise-level applications and large-scale system integrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and automation tools.
