Application Development Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of software developers, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture and provide technical mentorship.
- Oversee design, development, testing, and deployment of applications.
- Ensure adherence to best practices for coding, testing, and development methodologies (Agile, DevOps).
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Manage application development projects, ensuring they meet time, budget, and quality standards.
- Define scope, objectives, and deliverables; monitor progress and mitigate risks.
- Stay updated on technology trends and recommend tools, platforms, and frameworks.
- Contribute to IT strategies and roadmaps; evaluate and recommend tools and platforms.
- Ensure applications are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Optimize development workflows to reduce technical debt.
- Enforce coding standards, quality controls, and security best practices.
- Act as liaison between development teams and business stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements of applications.
- Ensure timely resolution of issues and support during critical incidents.
Skills:
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in Java, Apex, and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.
- Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Application security practices and tools.
- System architecture, APIs, and Salesforce integrations.
- Problem-solving, decision-making, and effective communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years in software/application development, with 2–3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing software development projects in Artificial Intelligence areas.
- Experience with enterprise-level applications and large-scale system integrations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and automation tools.
