I&E Technician

We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our Care Chemicals team in Washington, NJ.

As an an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician who has the skills necessary to install, maintain, and troubleshoot site instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment to provide safe operation with maximum production availability. This person will report to and receive work assignments, priorities, etc. from the Maintenance Manager.

This position is part of a job family with multiple levels and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience

During your 8-hour day-shift as a I&E Technician, you will

• Complete required repairs and tasks to instruments, controls, and electrical systems in an efficient, timely manner to restore or maintain safe operating capability.
• Install and verify new instrument, control, and electrical systems according to vendor specifications and maintenance procedures using drawings, manuals, or blueprints.
• Recommend changes to existing instruments, controls, electrical systems or equipment in order to improve reliability, accuracy, or further optimize processes.
• Recommend tools, equipment, or methods to improve the safety and timeliness of system repairs.
• Communicate any alterations to existing instrument, control, or electrical systems to ensure all site records are current and proper documentation is completed.
• Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards in the work area and complete Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations

If you...

• Hold a High School diploma with 10 years’ experience troubleshooting components including servos, sensors, control component, PLCs, VFDs, MMI, Service Panels & MCCs, sensors/instruments, valves/motors.
• Possess an Associate Degree, or have graduated from Technical School and hold a professional certificate with 3 years’ experience troubleshooting the same type of components listed above.
• Have completed an accredited trades program and possess a Journeyman’s certificate with better than 3 years’ experience troubleshooting the listed components.

Pay transparency

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive pay range for this role is $30 - $45 hourly. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
