Holman Frenia Allison, PC, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants (HFA) is headquartered in Central New Jersey. The firm services a diverse client base within the tri-state area providing highly personalized and comprehensive accounting, audit, tax, and business consulting services.
Position Summary:
HFA is seeking an Advisor to join our growing Advisory Services team. This entry-level role provides the opportunity to develop expertise in business consulting, financial analysis, and process improvement while working closely with clients across various industries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong project management skills, technical knowledge, critical thinking abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Execution:
- Organize work tasks into a clear, documented plan and ensure timely completion.
- Monitor project timelines and communicate status updates effectively with team members and clients.
- Identify potential bottlenecks and challenges, escalating to leadership as needed.
- Properly allocate resources and plan assignments to meet project deadlines.
Client Communication & Relationship Management:
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members, both verbally and in writing.
- Develop positive client relationships by understanding their needs and delivering high-quality service.
- Prepare reports, memos, and presentations that clearly convey analytical insights and recommendations.
- Listen attentively to client feedback and respond appropriately to inquiries and requests.
Technical Knowledge & Application:
- Apply foundational knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and advisory best practices to real-world client scenarios.
- Conduct research to support client projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Identify areas where additional guidance or technical expertise is needed to enhance project outcomes.
Data Analysis & Problem Solving:
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential improvements.
- Approach problems with a structured, analytical mindset and propose actionable solutions.
- Evaluate various solutions and communicate findings effectively to leadership and clients.
Compliance & Process Improvement:
- Assist in evaluating internal controls and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Support risk assessments and compliance efforts for clients across different industries.
- Contribute to developing best practices for project execution and documentation.

Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA licensure or working toward CPA eligibility preferred.
Experience:
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in public accounting, financial analysis, or advisory services preferred.
- Prior internship or work experience in audit, consulting, or financial analysis a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks online a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Analytical mindset with a problem-solving approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
