A medical assistant performs both administrative and clinical tasks.
Administratively- manage appointment scheduling, medical records,confirming appointments, perform insurance checks .
Clinically- triage patients, check vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and may administer medications under a physician's direction. Additional responsibilities include performing EKG's, and handling simple diagnostics, all of which contribute to quality patient care and efficient medical office operations
