Job Description
As a Field Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in installing and commissioning conveyor equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and collaborate with various departments to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
- Install and commission conveyor equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the installation and maintenance of conveyor systems.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to the project manager and internal teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and customer service departments to ensure project success.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
- Experience working with conveyor systems.
- Electrical knowledge.
- Mechanical/millwright experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to client sites frequently.
- Physical ability to work in a field installation environment, including lifting and carrying heavy equipment.
- Experience with basic hand and power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical installation, preferably in the conveyor industry.
- Understanding of Spanish is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Technical ability to use a mobile device such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop computer.

Work Environment
You will be working in a dynamic environment, often exposed to moving mechanical parts. Safety is a top priority, especially when working at facilities with specific EH&S requirements. The role requires the ability to use hand and power tools, climb ladders, and operate forklifts and scissor lifts safely. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jersey City, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
