Position Overview

Lightstone is seeking to hire two summer interns within the Accounting department to help support the team across a variety of company-wide projects. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with strong analytical skills and a passion for real estate asset types and their related accounting.

This is a full-time, non-exempt role running from approximately June 8th to August 14th.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers.
  • Maintain and record fixed assets.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities and reconcile the intercompany receivables and payables.
  • Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
  • Assist in compiling reporting packages to lenders and/or joint venture partners.
  • Assist in compiling and reviewing external audit requests for various testing.
  • Complete miscellaneous team requests as-needed.

Competencies And Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with MRI or Yardi preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, project management.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and a team player.
  • Studying towards a degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience required.
  • Working towards eligibility to sit for the CPA exam preferred.
