This role is a "working manager" position, requiring a blend of clinical mastery, financial oversight, and human resources expertise.

Key Responsibilities 1. Clinical & Operational Oversight
  • Daily Workflow: Coordinate the daily procedural schedule to maximize lab utilization and ensure timely "door-to-balloon" results for emergency STEMI cases.

  • Patient Safety: Direct the nursing and technical staff in the delivery of care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, pacemaker insertion, and EP studies.

  • Emergency Readiness: Maintain 24/7 staffing readiness for cardiac emergencies and manage the departmental on-call rotation.

2. Human Resources & Leadership
  • Staffing & Recruitment: Lead the interviewing, hiring, and onboarding process for RNs and Cardiovascular Technicians.

  • Performance Management: Conduct annual performance evaluations, manage labor relations, and facilitate conflict resolution within the team.

3. Financial & Resource Management
  • Budgeting: Manage the department's annual operating budget, focusing on cost-containment and resource allocation.

  • Inventory Control: Partner with vendors to manage high-cost specialty supplies, including stents, catheters, and implantable devices.

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Chief of Cardiology to evaluate and implement new technologies and clinical protocols.

4. Quality & Regulatory Compliance
  • Compliance: Ensure the department remains in "survey-ready" status for the New Jersey Department of Health (DOH) and The Joint Commission (TJC).

  • Data Metrics: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as patient satisfaction scores and clinical outcome data for the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR).

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Licensure: Current, valid New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Education: BSN required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing). An MSN or Master’s in Healthcare Administration is a plus.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience in a Cath Lab, ICU, or high-acuity Critical Care setting.

    • At least 2 years of leadership experience (e.g., Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Managerial role).

  • Certifications: * Required: BLS and ACLS.

    • Preferred: CCRN (Critical Care)

  • Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR), strong financial literacy, and advanced interpersonal communication.
