Simona's Bakery in Sea Girt, NJ is looking for one bakery clerk to join our 21 person strong team. We are located on 2201 State Hwy 35. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and reliable.

Simona’s Bakery focuses on providing superior customer service, the bakery sales clerk processes customer orders in an efficient, accurate, and courteous manner; bags, wraps, boxes and displays bakery products and makes sure the bakery department is clean, well-merchandised, colorful and inviting to the customer.

Please note: THIS IS NOT A SEASONAL POSITION.

This is an all year round position for Morning and Afternoon clerks

Looking for shifts for all year NOT JUST SUMMER

Week Days : 6:30-3:00pm

Weekends: 6:30am-8:00pm

Minimum 8 hours per week max 30 hours per week

Some Job Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow team members.

• Engaging with customers through smiles and greetings, offering product information, providing selling suggestions and always giving a genuine thank you.

• Must be able to speak to customers in a loud confident manner

• Focusing on providing fast and friendly customer service.

• Processing cash register/POS system transactions, giving back change, processing credit or debit cards.

• Using scale, ensuring weights and pricing are correct.

• Understanding the importance of and monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage.

• Keeping a clean, neat and orderly check stand/sales counter and work production areas.

• Wrapping, bagging, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them as necessary to ensure quality and safety.

• Displaying goods following bakery department and/or merchandising guidelines.

• Taking customer orders, ensuring orders are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.

• Answer Phone and provide customers with proper information.

• Helping decorators and bakers with personalization of cakes and icing of cakes and etc.

• Performs other duties as needed or assigned by management.

• Maintain good hygiene.

• Must be able to work holidays including Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving and Easter

• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.

• Must be able to climb stairs and stand for a long period of time

• Must be available to work at least 3 days a week. (both weekdays and weekends)

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
• Must be comfortable talking to customers and engage in conversation.
