Group Home Assistant Manager
- Ensures and accompanies consumer to medical and other related health care and needed appointments
- Supervises shift and Residential Care Assistants on shift; assists Residential Manager in providing training and supervision to staff as needed; provides new hire staff training in house
- Research, plans and accompanies consumers to programmatic activities, recreational opportunities, medical appointments or other activities
- Completes and maintains Medication Administration books and documents as needed and monthly; Completes monthly vehicle checklist and submits to the Coordinator of Transportation
- Functions as Residence Manager in manager’s absence; Administers DDD and Pillar Care Continuum policies and procedures promoting health, welfare and safety of residents.
- Ensures Licensing standards are maintained, at all times; assists Manager with ensuring and conducting monthly fire drills, house and staff meeting
- Provides emergency coverage of residence or at ER in event of consumer or household emergency or incident
- Utilizes and responds appropriately per Pillar Care Continuum and DDD procedure during consumer emergencies and incidents and/or group home operational breakdown; reports on unusual incidents and utilizes emergency on call systems and procedures in a timely manner; utilizes Pillar Care Continuum and DDD incident reporting procedures as appropriate in a timely manner
- Assists Residence Manager as delegated with IHP coordination toward insuring implementation of IHP goals if applicable; assists w/ maintaining consumer record books; monthly submission of DDD attendance report and monthly reports on each consumer
- Assists Residence Manager in coordination of schedules and administration of DDD and Pillar Care Continuum policies and procedures promoting health, welfare and safety of residents; may conduct incident investigations
- Ensures that safe and reliable transportation is available to residents; may drive van or other available transportation; may escort residents to scheduled programmatic activities, recreational opportunities, medical appointments or other activities
- Interacts with family members of residents, day program staff, professional consultants, other provider agencies, DDD staff and the general public regarding specific as well as related general issues
- Completes programmatic reports including but not limited to monthly reports, attendance records, incident reports, health service referral forms, filing
- Participates in or carries out individual or Pillar Care Continuum team assignments and activities delegated by the Manager and/or Director of Residential
- Performs other related functions as required; may be asked to work in an alternate home as needed
- To successfully complete required Pillar Care Continuum and DDD core training in required period of time
- To adhere to DDD and Pillar Care Continuum policies, procedures and circulars and cooperate with Pillar Care Continuum, the Office of Licensing and the Division of Developmental Disabilities in any inspection or investigation
- To relate well to adults with disabilities
- To establish positive relationships with each individual
- To recruit, employ and supervise staff and follow Pillar Care Continuum and DDD personnel policies and practices; to maintain proper working relationships with individuals, staff, service coordinators, professional consultants, administrators, parents, guardians, sponsors and DDD staff
- To prepare and implement a budget and secure and account for resident funds
- To learn and understand each person’s individual needs and to carry out residential services by providing support and guidance
- To learn use of and to operate program and adaptive equipment
- To perform strenuous physical activity including supporting, lifting and transferring adults
- To drive a multi-Passenger Vehicle
- To communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- To establish and maintain proper working relationships with supervisors, administrators, parents and others
- To respect and maintain confidentiality of individuals and staff
- To maintain a flexible work schedule which may entail evenings, overnights and or weekend assignments
- To maintain a safe working environment and adhere to standard health precautions
- To travel independently off-site
- To maintain a valid driver’s license with fewer than 5 points at all times
- Relate well with adults with disabilities
- Carry out program objectives

- Must successfully pass all core DDD trainings and Pillar Care Continuum trainings within 120 days of hire
- Maintain proper working relationships with consumers, staff, administrators, professional consultants, parents, guardians, sponsors and DDD personnel
- Maintain a safe environment and adhere to universal health precautions
- At least 18 years of age (Insurance Purposes)
- HS Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with fewer than 4 points at all times.
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check and receive clearance from the Department of Human Services, confirming they are not disqualified, before beginning work with individuals served by the organization.
- Must consent to having their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
- Must submit to drug testing prior to their start date.
- Required to complete an application for a name check against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI).
- Required to complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI).
