Seeking experienced and motivated technicians to install fire, security, access control, intercom, IP & analog video systems, and related systems and components. Technicians will be working with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment.Depending on experience pay rate is $38 to $42 per hour.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Install or upgrade fire alarms in commercial and residential buildings.
Test and repair alarm systems already in place
Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code.
Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues.
Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Protect and maintain company equipment.
Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation.
Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety instructions for that equipment.
System testing and inspecting the prescribed standards
Ability to independently conduct tests, and determine whether equipment is operating as expected; troubleshooting skills; equipment maintenance; repairing; installation; time management
Demonstrate communication and teamwork skills with customers, co-workers and subcontractors to express ideas and technical concepts to problem solve
Maintain accurate records of all work performed, material used and communicate any problem encountered or identified with the alarm system
Ensuring a high level of customer service, satisfaction, and communication
Maintains a clean and safe work environment on and off site
Follow safety procedures, ensure all work is being done in accordance with safety policies and procedures as well as code compliance
Education/Qualification:
High School Diploma / GED
Must have a minimum of 2.5 years security alarm industry experience required
Ability to install, inspect, or service various types of systems such as Honeywell, Notifier, DMP, Hikvision systems a plus
Ability to read blueprints and / or drawings preferred
Must be able to use various equipment and tools up to 40lbs. Job may require performing work in unusual and sometimes difficult locations such as ducts, crawl spaces, heights, etc.
Basic computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work closely with the sales and operations departments
Customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers
Must have a professional appearance. Be responsible, self-motivated, personable, and well-organized
Have a clean driving record and a valid New Jersey Driver’s License
New Jersey Alarm License preferred, but not required
Other Duties:
Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
