Machine Maintenance Technician

Staff Management Group is seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician for our client in Hillside, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Pay Rate:

• $24 - $30 / hour

Job Summary:

The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing bottle and case conveyor systems within a production environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and responding quickly to equipment breakdowns to ensure efficient and continuous operations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically skilled, and experienced working around high-speed production equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair bottle and case conveyor systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform basic electrical diagnostics
• Adjust conveyor speeds, belts, rollers, motors, sensors, and controls as needed
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions to maintain production flow
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
• Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and cGMP food safety standards
• Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, damage, or potential failures
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance.

Job Requirements:

• MUST be bilingual - English AND Spanish.
• Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge
• Experience working with bottle or case conveyor systems preferred
• Background in beverage, food, or manufacturing environments a plus
• Ability to work safely around high-speed machinery
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and reliability
• Ability to follow procedures and maintenance schedules

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Ability to work in a noisy production environment with moving equipment
