Computer Scientist - Mid Level

A3 Technology Inc. is seeking a mid-level Computer Scientist to join our team in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This position will be responsible for providing software/adaptation analysis, design/development, testing and system integration for the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program.

Essential Job Functions:

• Work specifically with the TFDM Software Development Team using, database concepts), Red Hat Linux and various homegrown tools. TFDM Lab assignments and Data Collection is essential.


• Perform Data collection, Software Installations and Workstation Backups.


• Perform adaptation/software analysis and implement code fixes, adaptation changes and new functionality.


• Perform peer/code reviews.


• Ability to work individually and within a group/team.


• Ability to take direction and initiative, ability to provide direction and training.


• Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.


• Proficiency and knowledge of real-time design, development, testing and interfacing of software and computer hardware systems.


• Comprehensive software development skills and experience with programming languages used for National Airspace Systems (NAS) and NAS support systems.


• Desk/lab located at the William J. Hughes Technical Center.


• Limited (25% or less) travel to locations throughout the US.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

• Technical Adapter/Software Developer with knowledge in Java, XML, Shell Scripting, Java Script, Database Concepts, UNIX/LINUX and the ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.


• In addition, experience in TFDM/STARS/NAS, Test (or another project management tool), (or another configuration management tool) and Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).

Education:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Math or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science and twelve (12) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field OR


• Master’s Degree in any field of study with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergraduate or graduate study in a combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science and nine (9) years related work experience in a computer science or math field.

Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required. It is imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident of the US.
