This role is charged with driving enterprise-wide adoption and effective use of Microsoft 365 Copilot, the Power Platform, and the broader M365 productivity suite (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Viva) in a large financial institution. Working under the M365 Product Enablement & Adoption team leadership team and collaborating closely with technical AI engineering teams, the Adoption Lead will design and execute programs that empower employees — from AI novices to citizen developers — to leverage modern AI and automation tools within a governed framework. The mission is to maximize ROI from productivity tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio agents, and Power Automate by ensuring employees are well-trained, engaged, and supported. This position focuses on education, change management, and value realization rather than building solutions directly: you enable the enterprise to use what the technical teams build.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training & User Enablement Programs
- Develop and execute comprehensive training plans for Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio (AI agents), and Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps). Cover the full user journey from initial Copilot prompting basics to advanced citizen development techniques, designing learning paths and educational materials tailored for citizen developers
- Deliver live training and workshops (virtual via Teams and in-person) tailored to various audiences and business functions. This includes recurring Q & A sessions, office hours, and intensive bootcamps for power users. Adapt content with relevant business scenarios for different departments to ensure training is contextually relevant — for example, localizing examples to specific functions and regions to drive consistency and quality
- Produce and curate learning content across multiple formats — job aids, quick-reference guides, short-form learning modules, how-to videos, and written communications — translating technical AI topics into immediately useful guidance for non-technical audiences . Ensure all content is accurate, accessible, and usable by staff across a range of technical comfort levels
- Onboarding & continuous learning: Ensure new users (and new hires) quickly reach "time to first value" with Copilot through onboarding sessions and quick-start guides Offer refresher trainings and advanced topic deep-dives as new features (Copilot updates, Power Platform enhancements) are released. Own the production and publishing cadence — content moves from draft to delivery on schedule, and outdated material is retired promptly
Champions Program & Community Building
- Recruit and lead a Copilot & Power Platform Champions Network to scale adoption through peer advocacy. Identify and train champions across business units and regions who can mentor colleagues, share best practices, and surface use cases. Coach champions to scale adoption and curate success stories and reusable use cases for wider dissemination
- Community engagement: Moderate internal forums (Viva, Teams communities) where employees ask questions and share tips on Copilot and Power Platform. Host regular community calls to spotlight success stories, address FAQs, and encourage cross-pollination of ideas. Act as the go-to contact for questions and best practices across the enterprise
- Resource curation: Build and maintain a self-service knowledge hub (e.g., SharePoint site) with on-demand learning materials, prompt templates, demo videos, recorded sessions, and FAQs for Copilot and Power Platform tools — with the explicit goal of reducing repetitive inquiries through knowledge base usage. Actively contributes to an AI Learning Hub SharePoint site, maintaining content currency, publishing new resources, and ensuring a quality user experience
- Champion Network support: Provide education and practical AI skills support to champion network members — delivering targeted training sessions, sharing resources and talking points, and helping champions build confidence with AI tools in their own teams
User Adoption Strategy & Change Management
- Adoption roadmaps: Working in the Product Enablement & Adoption team, design structured adoption strategies aligned with change management frameworks (e.g., ADKAR or Prosci models) Map out comparable phased rollout plans for deploying Copilot and new AI-driven features to various business units.
- Communications & evangelism: Develop targeted communication plans to generate awareness and excitement. Craft executive briefings, "what's in it for me" messaging for end-users, and internal newsletters that highlight new capabilities and real-life use cases. Produce adoption narrative artifacts — covering the "why now," wins, next wave, challenges, and leaderboards — to sustain momentum
- One-on-one coaching: Act as a go-to AI productivity coach for employees. Field questions ranging from basic "How do I prompt Copilot to summarize an email thread?" to advanced "How can I automate part of my workflow with Power Automate?". Host regular office hours and provide coaching for employees working through specific use cases — meeting users where they are, not where the curriculum assumes they should be
- Collaboration with Technical & Governance Teams
- Liaise with AI engineering teams: Work in close partnership with the technical Copilot and AI platform engineers who are building and configuring Copilot Studio agents and integrating new AI capabilities. Provide user feedback to inform the development backlog. Coordinate closely with the Tech Infrastructure team on release readiness, known issues, agent roadmap, and support model to ensure training content and documentation are updated in sync with new feature rollouts.
- Align with governance & security: Work within the established governance framework to promote safe and compliant usage. Incorporate guidance on data privacy, security, and responsible AI into all training and communications, reinforcing what data can and cannot be shared with Copilot. Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, responsible AI, and industry regulations in all enablement activities. Communicate responsible AI boundaries clearly to employees learning to use AI tools in a regulated environment — covering data privacy, appropriate use, bias awareness, and governance
- Support model & issue escalation: Partner with IT support teams and product owners (M365 administrators, help desk) to build a robust support model for M365 productivity users. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to escalate and resolve technical issues. Help triage and resolve user issues, especially during early rollout phases, and feed common support findings back into training content.
- Contribute to agent ideation: As feasible, contribute to agent ideation and light configuration, aligning functional demand with technical capacity and prioritization. This ensures the Adoption Lead understands what Copilot agents can do and can credibly demonstrate and explain them to business users.
Maximizing Value & Measuring Impact
- Use-case development & ROI: Collaborate with business units to identify high-impact use cases for Copilot and automation. Turn interest in AI into concrete, achievable projects by helping teams refine their ideas and connecting them with the right technical resources. Document success stories to demonstrate tangible productivity gains. Curate the number and quality of documented use cases and success stories, and track champion network coverage and activity
- Adoption metrics & reporting: Define success metrics and track adoption progress. Key indicators include:
- Activation rate and time to first value for newly licensed users
- Training and Q & A participation, completion, and satisfaction scores
- Community engagement and deflection metrics — reduction in repeat questions through knowledge base usage
- Adoption depth — weekly active use among licensed users and use case penetration in priority functions
- Support responsiveness, SLA adherence, and resolution time in partnership with Tech Infrastructure
- Work with Engineering to develop interactive dashboards and regular reports for leadership, highlighting how increased use of Copilot and M365 features drives business value.
- Continuous improvement: Analyze feedback and usage data to identify adoption barriers or opportunities. Identify adoption barriers and bring them forward with supporting data and a recommended response. Implement changes to the adoption program based on insights — new training modules, revised communication tactics, or additional support resources.
Change Management & User Advocacy
- Change champion: Act as a change agent and internal evangelist for modern AI and M365 productivity tools. Inspire employees at all levels to embrace new ways of working. Address resistance and feedback to obtain support for change initiatives This involves tailoring messages to different audiences — from entry-level staff up to executives — and demonstrating how Copilot, Teams, Sharepoint and Power Platform can make jobs easier and more rewarding.
- User advocacy: Represent the "voice of the user" in enterprise AI initiatives. Collect feedback from end-users and champions, and advocate for necessary adjustments in both technology and policy. Ensure employee experience is front-and-center when new Copilot features or Power Platform capabilities are introduced.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in roles focused on enterprise software adoption, training, or community management. Proven track record running scaled enablement programs and building champions networks
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Expert facilitation and presentation skills for virtual and in-person audiences. Able to simplify complex AI concepts into practical, business-friendly guidance for non-technical audiences. Exceptional written and verbal communication — able to produce consistent, high-quality instructional materials reliably on a regular cadence.
- Change management & stakeholder engagement expertise. Strong stakeholder management, change management, and communication planning skills. Experience applying structured change management approaches (e.g., ADKAR/Prosci) to drive technology adoption. Experience collaborating with IT on release readiness, incident management, and service improvements.
- Microsoft 365 proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Copilot, VIva and basic Power Platform concepts. While deep development skills are not required, sufficient technical proficiency is needed to create demo flows, build simple Copilot agent examples, and understand how these tools integrate across the M365 ecosystem.
- Data-driven mindset. Comfort with dashboards and KPI storytelling. Experience defining success metrics and using data to measure progress. Proficiency with analytics or BI tools to track training attendance, tool usage, and adoption rates.
- Content curation and knowledge management. Ability to translate technical topics into business-friendly guidance Experience managing knowledge bases, learning hubs, or internal content platforms.
- Organization & project coordination. Strong program and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent programs simultaneously without dropping threads. Project coordination experience including timelines, risks, stakeholders, and reporting.
- Passion for technology & user success. Genuine enthusiasm for AI tools and a practitioner mindset — someone who uses these tools personally and can model confident, responsible AI adoption for others. Demonstrated ability to drive behavioral change through structured Learning & Development — not just tool introductions; adoption is the outcome, training is the mechanism.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial or regulated environments. Exposure to regulated environments, privacy and security requirements, and responsible AI guardrails Familiarity with how compliance requirements (data privacy, records retention) affect user-facing AI and automation tools, and experience conveying responsible AI usage guidelines to end-users.
- Certifications & methodologies. Prosci Change Management certification, PMP, or Microsoft certifications are a plus. Microsoft certifications such as Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) or Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals demonstrate a solid foundation. Avanade's framework references designing train-the-trainer bootcamps with observation rubrics and pass/fail criteria and internal champions certification materials— experience developing such credentialing programs is valuable.
- Multilingual communication. Given global enterprise reach, proficiency in additional languages can be an asset for supporting users across regions.
- Community leadership. Experience leading internal user communities, champions programs, or technology adoption networks. Recognized contributions to external communities (Microsoft Tech Community, Power Platform User Groups, etc.) are beneficial.
- L & D and instructional design background. Experience with adult learning principles, training needs analysis, and designing interactive learning experiences (hands-on labs, scenario-based workshops). Comfortable presenting to audiences at all levels, including executives and field leadership.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience
