This Mental Health Intake Coordinator position acts as the primary point of contact for incoming clients, managing the full admissions process. Responsibilities include scheduling initial assessments, verifying insurance, gathering clinical history, and facilitating communication between clients and clinical staff to ensure proper care. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, high confidentiality, and proficiency in clerical tasks.

Hours: 8-4 or 9-5
Position Type: Full-Time, In-office, located in Freehold, NJ

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Intake Coordinator to be the first point of contact for individuals seeking mental health services. You will guide clients through the admissions process, verify insurance, send new patient paperwork and schedule appointments, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience.

You would be contacting prospective patients via phone, email and internet intake software. Attention to detail is very important, as well as making sure all the correct and necessary information is properly obtained. Training will be provided.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in behavioral health admissions, intake, or administrative support.
• Strong knowledge of mental health lingo and HIPAA regulations.
• Proficiency in multi-line phone systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
