This position is for a part-time 11pm-7am overnight LPN. Weekends and holidays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications or start intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patients' charts.
• Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.
• Answer patients' calls and determine how to assist them.
• Provide basic patient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations.
• Work as part of a healthcare team to assess resident needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.
• Supervise nurses' aides.
• Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other healthcare team members as necessary.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures.
• Work under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, Assistant Dir. of Nursing, and/or RN supervisor.

Mandatory Qualifications of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Must have a valid and current LPN license in accordance with the laws of NJ
• CPR Certified

Skills & Qualities of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Must be able to read, write, speak & understand the English language
• Must have the computer skills to learn & use Point Click Care for charting medical records.
• Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the resident served.
• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Must be able to relay information concerning a resident's condition
