Position Summary:
The Surgical Scheduler – Endoscopy is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all endoscopic and related procedures, ensuring efficient use of resources, accurate documentation, and excellent patient experience. This role serves as the primary point of contact between physicians, and clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely communication. Key Responsibilities:• Schedule all surgical/endoscopy procedures accurately, coordinating with physicians, anesthesia, and clinical staff.
• Verify procedure orders, authorizations, and patient demographics prior to scheduling.
• Optimize procedure room utilization while supporting efficient patient throughput.
• Prepare and distribute daily schedules to all stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records in the EMR and scheduling systems.
• Communicate any changes, add-ons, or cancellations promptly to the care team.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure patients are prepared and required documentation is complete. Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Previous experience in surgical or endoscopy scheduling is REQUIRED.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedure codes, and insurance authorization process IS REQUIRED.
