Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team on a part-time, contract basis. This role involves managing financial collections and maintaining strong client relationships within a services environment focused on attention to detail. Located in Parsippany, New Jersey, this position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively while utilizing your expertise in collections processes and tools. Responsibilities: - Handle collection activities for current clients, ensuring timely payments and maintaining positive client relationships. - Manage commercial and consumer collections efficiently, adhering to established protocols. - Utilize Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting collection data with accuracy. - Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and streamline collection processes. - Monitor outstanding balances and create actionable plans to recover overdue amounts. - Maintain detailed records of collection activities and interactions with clients. - Apply knowledge of services that require attention to detail to enhance collection strategies. - Identify and implement improvements to existing collection workflows. - Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies during collection activities. - Provide regular updates and reports on collection progress to management. Requirements - Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections. - Familiarity with billing collection procedures and best practices. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients and internal teams. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. - Knowledge of services industry is highly desirable. - Experience with collection tools or software such as CCH ProSystem is a plus. - High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
