About the Role
A leading global supplier of specialty nutritional and functional ingredients is seeking a highly motivated Sales Executive to drive business growth across the U.S. East Coast.
This role is focused on identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities within the dietary supplement, functional food, beverage, sports nutrition, and health & wellness markets. The successful candidate will be a proactive hunter with a strong track record of opening new accounts, developing strategic customer relationships, and delivering profitable revenue growth.
Working closely with technical, marketing, product management, and supply chain teams, the Sales Executive will serve as the primary commercial contact for customers throughout the sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through commercialization and account development.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & New Account Acquisition
Identify, target, and secure new customers across the East Coast territory.
Develop and execute territory growth plans aligned with company objectives.
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
Generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, industry events, and market intelligence.
Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and commercial negotiations.
Drive opportunity progression from lead generation through commercialization and revenue realization.
Account Management & Relationship Development
Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers across purchasing, R&D, product development, and executive leadership functions.
Expand business within existing accounts through cross-selling and strategic account development.
Maintain regular customer engagement and identify emerging opportunities.
Support contract negotiations, forecasting, and long-term partnership development.
Market & Industry Engagement
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, ingredient innovation, and customer needs.
Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences, and customer events.
Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with marketing and technical teams on strategic growth initiatives.
Internal Collaboration
Partner with technical and product development teams to support customer projects.
Coordinate customer requirements with operations, regulatory, and supply chain functions.
Maintain accurate opportunity and customer records within the CRM system.
Deliver regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and territory performance reports.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Food Science, Nutrition, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of B2B ingredient sales experience within nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, food ingredients, specialty chemicals, or related markets.
Proven success in new business development and territory expansion.
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
Strong commercial acumen and consultative selling skills.
Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficiency with CRM systems and pipeline management.
