Material Handler

• Shift/Hours:
  • DAY SHIFT: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm
• Compensation: $18/hr
• Location: Fairfield, NJ
• Experience: 1-3 years

PrideStaff has partnered with this family-owned manufacturing business to hire an experienced Material Handler.

Main Tasks

• Consolidate and rotate inventory using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methods
• Contribute to the overall organization and efficiency of the warehouse or storage area
• Ensure efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within the warehouse
• Identify, locate, and verify materials according to production orders
• Keep workspaces, inventory areas, loading docks, and equipment clean and organized
• Label and place products accurately; maintain organized and clearly identified inventory
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including stock levels and locations
• Pull and stage production materials as needed using the scanning system
• Use QR scanner programs to track, move, and document inventory
• Requirements
• Coordinate with the warehouse team to prioritize workflow based on production needs
• and delivery schedules in fast-paced environments
• Follow safety procedures and equipment guidelines; promote a team-oriented work environment
• Operate material-handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks and stackers
• Perform equipment inspections and minor operator-level repairs
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the warehouse team, and supervisors

Qualifications

• Comfortable using mobile devices and smartphone technology for warehouse operations
• Current certification and hands-on experience with electric pallet jack operation
• Current certification and proven ability to operate stacking equipment safely
• Proficient in using barcode scanners and similar warehouse technology
