Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Manufacturing)

Are you a quality-driven professional with a strong background in AS9100, ISO9001, and FAA Part 145 standards? A confidential aerospace and defense supplier is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support and improve its Quality Management System (QMS) through audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Execute and lead internal audits to ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA, and ISO9001 standards.

• Support external audits including AS9100, NADCAP, FAA, and DCMA (U.S. Government).

• Facilitate customer audits and source inspections.

• Create and update QMS documentation: Quality Manual, SOPs, and Work Instructions.

• Investigate nonconformances and implement corrective/preventive actions using tools like 8D and 5 Whys.

• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on QMS processes and compliance.

• Drive process improvements using data analysis and lean/six sigma tools.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Inspection.

• Respond to customer complaints, coordinate resolutions, and ensure product compliance.

• Lead or contribute to audit planning and QMS performance reporting.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of experience auditing and maintaining AS9100/ISO9001-compliant quality systems.

• Experience in aerospace, defense, FAA, or nuclear industries.

• AS9100 Internal Auditor Certification required .

• Strong technical writing skills for creating SOPs, procedures, and QMS documentation.

• Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 21 and Part 145 (preferred).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ETQ Reliance is a plus.

• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
