Associate Chemist

Job Title: Associate Chemist
Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $23-$24 per hr.
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 40.0 Monday thru Friday
Security Clearance: Must be able to pass the Cannabis Regulatory Commission background check for Laboratory Agent registration

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy
• Wash glassware used by the laboratory to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
• Accurately enter sample data into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Produce laboratory reagents and stocks as needed
• Process cannabis samples, including flowers, concentrates, extracts, and infusion products
• Conduct cannabis sample extraction and dilutions according to proper protocols

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
• Must be able to pass the Cannabis Regulatory Commission background check for Laboratory Agent registration
• Basic lab skills including understanding and following safety standards
• Ability to wear gloves, lab coat, eye protection, sleeves, hearing protection, pesticide suit, plastic booties, dust masks, respirator, and face mask
• Willingness to learn and perform repetitive tasks
• Willing to learn proper protocol for driving to pick up samples from other labs in NJ as needed
• Previous laboratory testing of cannabis is a plus
• Must have a clean driving record; able to drive 1.5 hours when required
