Heavy Construction Foreman

Location: Northern & Central New Jersey (Project-Based Travel Required)
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Competitive; based on experience

Position Overview

One of our clients is seeking a hands-on and motivated Heavy Construction Foreman to oversee field operations on heavy civil construction projects throughout Northern and Central New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have experience leading crews in the field, maintaining project schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and coordinating resources to deliver quality work efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field crews on heavy construction projects.

• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

• Manage daily workflow, labor, equipment, and resources to meet project schedules.

• Serve as the primary point of contact between project stakeholders, field personnel, subcontractors, and management.

• Coordinate material orders, deliveries, and onsite logistics.

• Monitor productivity and address field issues to keep projects on track.

• Maintain accurate records and communicate project progress effectively.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Foreman or similar construction leadership role.

• Experience leading and managing pipe crews.

• Strong understanding of grading and earthmoving operations.

• Experience setting up and utilizing GPS equipment for construction projects.

• Proven background in heavy civil or heavy construction environments.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Union construction experience.

• Experience managing multiple crews and subcontractors.

• Knowledge of site development, utility installation, and excavation projects.
