Materials Planner
Box and Label Manufacturing Company Urgently Hiring a Materials Planner for a Career Opportunity in Wayne, NJ on First Shift

Shift: 8am-5pm (Monday-Friday)
Pay: $25/hour ; Overtime: $37.50/hour
Job Description
As a Materials Planner, you will review production demand and determine board and corrugate requirements. You will also compare material needs against inventory and open purchase orders, identify and secure substitute materials during shortages, and manage deficit orders while considering warehouse space.
Responsibilities
- Analyze board demand across open jobs and compare requirements against on-hand inventory and incoming purchase orders.
- Identify and validate alternative board materials, ensuring technical compatibility.
- Place orders for required board materials while accounting for warehouse space constraints.
- Coordinate with sister plants to locate excess inventory and arrange material transfers.
- Escalate material shortages to mills, track lead times, and communicate supply risks.
- Review corrugate demand versus inventory and source alternatives when shortages occur.
- Obtain Sales approval for corrugate substitutions when necessary.
- Communicate material risks and supply constraints to internal stakeholders.
- Escalate unresolved shortages for further action.
Essential Skills
- Experience in materials planning and inventory analysis.
- Proficiency in board and corrugate planning.
- Experience with ERP systems and packaging.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication skills for escalation and risk reporting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Sales, and Supply Chain teams.
This is a Contract position based out of Wayne, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
