Part-Time Smash Truck Operator/Driver
Truck Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator Smash My Trash® is looking to hire a full-time Truck Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator to service municipalities and businesses in the manufacturing, construction, distribution, transportation, and service industries in Central New Jersey covering areas from Edison to Cherry Hill New Jersey. This Truck Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator position earns a strong base wage of $22.00 - $25.00/hour, depending on experience, with the potential for overtime and bonus referrals. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRUCK DRIVER / HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR As a Truck Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator, you are responsible for safely and efficiently operating our “Mobile Smash Machines” or flatbed trucks which are outfitted with state-of-the-art hydraulic machinery to compact the contents of dumpsters. You drive a daily route and expertly provide this service for your clients. To them, you and your truck represent the Smash My Trash brand, so you always ensure that you look professional and your truck is clean, well-maintained, and safe to operate, and regularly scheduled inspections are completed. You work as a team member and facilitate SMASH demos to prospects with our Sales Account Manager. You immediately report any issues to dispatch and keep up-to-date and accurate records. Your clients appreciate your friendly customer service and quality work by following all quality control procedures. You will represent Smash My Trash brand by helping our Account Manager at area events and programs by bringing our Smash Truck to the events and help field any technical questions. You will attend training events as needed to ensure you are kept up to date on any new Smash My Trash truck features, upgrades, or changes to the operating procedures. You enjoy driving and smashing all day long, but you never lose sight of safety and customer service. It feels good to reduce both waste hauling and operational costs for your clients!QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or equivalent and a degree from the school of hard knocks * 2 years of experience safely driving and operating trucks with hydraulic equipment such as dump trucks, garbage trucks, backhoes, fire trucks, street cleaners, or snowplows * Ability to drive in all sorts of weather and keep your route schedule maintained * Ability to handle a physical workload including lifting, standing and climbing a 4-foot ladder approximately 20 times per day in all weather conditions * Being flexible and consummate team player who can collaborate with others * Strong work ethic, reliable and on-time * Interest in growing career with additional responsibilities * Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record * Route driving experience a PLUS! * Ability to pass a DOT physical exam, a background check, and a drug screening * Customer service mentality A CDL is preferred but not necessarily required.
