Position Summary
Maintain established service levels for product in-stock. Assist sales and customer service with special order requests. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Maintain and adjusts inventory levels to achieve acceptable turns. Confirms items, pricing and delivery day on all purchase orders to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
Maintain relationships with vendors by resolving problems with invoicing, product, or delivery to ensure quality service and longevity of relationships.
Negotiate prices if requested, build and place orders and have understanding of overall market conditions.
Function with a sense of urgency in a fast paced, highly transactional environment
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3+ years produce purchasing experience or related area within distribution/wholesale industry (Foodservice a plus)
- Ability to multi task and learn software applications quickly. Ability to learn forecasting and planning.
- Well organized, able to multi-task and highly analytical
